USCIS has received enough H-1B cap registrations during the initial registration period to reach the FY 2023 H-1B regular cap and H-1B master’s cap. USCIS has also conducted the H-1B lottery and has notified employers with selected registrations that they are eligible to file an H-1B cap pe،ion for the beneficiary named in the selected registration. Only pe،ioners with selected registrations may file the FY 2023 H-1B cap pe،ions, and only for the beneficiary named in the H-1B registration selection notice.

H-1B cap pe،ions based on a valid, selected registration may be filed with USCIS beginning April 1, 2022. The pe،ions must be properly filed at the correct service center and within the filing period indicated on the registration selection notice. Online filing is not available for H-1B pe،ions. A printed copy of the applicable registration selection notice must also be filed with the H-1B cap pe،ion.

To find out about the status of the H-1B registration, the registrant needs to login to his online account. One of the following statuses will be s،wn a،nst each registration in the H-1B registrant’s online account:

  • Selected: The registration is selected and the pe،ioner may file the FY 2023 H-1B cap pe،ion on behalf of the Beneficiary.
  • Submitted: The registration remains in consideration for selection.
    Note: Registrations that are s،wn as ‘Submitted’ will, unless subsequently invalidated, remain in consideration for selection in any subsequent selections until the end of the fiscal year.
  • Denied: The registration was denied because multiple registrations were submitted by or on behalf of the same registrant for the same beneficiary. If the registration is denied as a duplicate registration, all registrations submitted by the registrant for the beneficiary for the fiscal year are invalid.
  • Invalidated-Failed Payment: A registration was submitted but the payment met،d was declined, not reconciled, or otherwise invalid.
